Buckley Moss Print 1995 (Unframed) Dimensions: Approx. 18” x 18”" Madison's Montpelier " is the third of four prints in the Presidential Homes of Virginia series that artist P. Buckley Moss created exclusively for VPM Media Corporation (formerly known as WVPT) to support the broadcast of culturally enriching programs and series on VPM. This print, from 1995, is a stately portrait of the Virginia landmark located in the Piedmont region of Virginia at Montpelier Station. Montpelier was the lifelong home of James Madison, Jr., "Father of the Constitution," sponsor of the Bill of Rights and fourth President of the United States. Other notable residents of Montpelier include Madison's son and his wife, James Jr. and Dolley Madison, and William and Annie duPont in the early 1900's. Under the duPont ownership, Montpelier grew from the original 22 room house to 55 rooms and 12 bathrooms. Montpelier is open to the public with numerous exhibits, archaeological sites and extensive gardens and landscapes. Known as "The People's Artist," P. Buckley Moss is a patron of the arts and is a champion for children with learning disabilities.
